We have seen these in several versions from several major companies. 10" X 14" They all have a winged logo and look really cool...Cities Service, Texaco, Phillips, were all made up to name a few. These are small porcelain signs and this one even shows wear! This globe is a reproduction. Note the outer blue border. Original Mobil globes on capco, glass or metal have no outer blue border and all the phony ones do. Repro Star Service Sign 12" diameter porcelain. Patina and chips/scratches are part of the porcelain on the one we found here. This advertising globe originated from Pennsylvania and IS NOT A GAS GLOBE!!!! These inserts are about 12" diameter and will not fit any known frame or holder. I've heard two stories. One says these inserts were used by an Ice Cream Company and the other a Florist shop. I think the Ice Cream one is correct but these were not used by any oil company. White Rose Repro Gas Globe. Any of these 8 inch high globes with three plus inch bases are fake!!! Some have a coin slot at top, the later ones don't. This was recently sold on e-bay. White Rose No Knock Repro Gas Globe on 15 inch metal. This one is obvious. First of all the original metal frame ones never had the black border like this one. Second there are only a couple of known original No Knocks on metal. Third the high light white spots on the boy's shoes are in the wrong place. Look in the globe books and you'll see the white spot on the other sides. White Eagle Refining never made a globe like this or anything even close to it. They did make a round etched one piece, this is baked, but it didn't look like this at all.
